We’ve got another Paris Wine Company exclusive for you! Julien and Nancy Cecillon have just released their first white wine – produced in such tiny quantities that this offer is the only time these wines will be available in the US.

For over 100 years, St Peray has been a local favorite in the Northern Rhone. Today, Saint Peray is a sleeper appellation….slowly gaining in popularity amongst wine lovers while remaining nearly unknown. Think of it as the white equivalent of Cornas, which is located just to the north.  Only the white grapes Marsanne and Roussane are grown in Saint Peray, and it’s been a cult bottling from producers like August Clape, Francois Villard, and Michel Chapoutier.

For those who love great white wines with depth and acidity like Chassagne Montrachet or Saumur Blanc, this bottling of Saint Peray is a must try-  when it’s first poured in the glass, the smoky peach aromas jump right out, and the richness of Marsanne is cut by bright acidity.

Wary of the over-waxy, oily whites that can come out of the Rhone, Julien vinified this wine with that it mind; the wine is dynamic and fresh, and the minerality from the clay-limestone soils shines through. This wines keeps some of the richness but with stone fruit, white flower and accacia notes on the nose and a crisp après-bouche.

Throw this in a blind tasting for your Burgundy lovers and see what happens…..of course don’t mention that the best Saint Peray is half the price of a 1er cru white Burgundy.

Only 3 barrels of wine were produced in this inaugural vintage. The Cecillon reds are already completely allocated to distributors across the country and at Julien’s request we are saving the tiny amount of Saint Peray to offer directly to you. It’s already sold out at the winery, and once people start pulling corks, this will be one of the most requested wines we offer…..
